About Us

        The UC Irvine Outreach Clinics will be completely run and supported by students with guidance from the clinic’s medical director, Dr. Emily Dow. The clinics are coordinated by UC Irvine student volunteers from all areas of study, including medical, nursing, undergraduate, and graduate. The students work in interdisciplinary teams alongside community collaborators and under the guided supervision of licensed practitioners. Our clinics serve Santa Ana, Tustin, and neighboring communities through direct health care services, health promotion and disease prevention, social support and case management, and appropriate referrals to medical and social resources in the community. We are a non-denominational organization that strives to provide the highest quality of care regardless of socio-economic or health status. While we would like to serve everyone, our clinic is intended to catch those who fall between the cracks of the current health care system, the uninsured.

* Mission
          The UC Irvine Outreach Clinics are dedicated to improving the health and quality of life of individuals and families ineligible for or unable to access existing programs, while inspiring future health professionals to explore and understand community-based, patient-centered practice in a multidisciplinary environment.
* Goals
          Our goals are to provide a higher standard of comprehensive medical and preventive care for our patients by filling gaps in health coverage, increasing utilization of existing community resources, and promoting the health of our patients in a manner consistent with the needs of the community. In addition to providing service to the community, students will develop an understanding of and appreciation for community-based medicine in a setting of collaborative practice.
* Values
          In service to the dignity and integrity of every individual, we are committed to providing responsible, ethical, and comprehensive care to our patients. We strive to promote the health and wellness of our community through a commitment to advocacy, individual empowerment, and follow-up care through health education.
