Commitment to the Underserved

The UC Irvine Outreach Clinics are committed to serving those who are not eligible for county or government programs and who cannot afford private insurance. Students will assist patients in accessing County Medical Services (CMS), MediCal, Healthy Families, or other programs if they are eligible for those resources.

 

The Health Clinics will provide:

  • Continuity of care through preventive medicine
  • Weekly non-emergent services
  • Management of chronic illnesses

 

Health education will focus on:

  • Nutrition
  • Diabetes management
  • Drug and alcohol addiction
  • Smoking cessation
  • Blood pressure surveillance

 
 

Services will include:

  • Laboratory and imaging work-ups through local providers
  • Prescription medications through a Patient Assistance Program
  • Health education
  • On-site social service enrollment
  • Referral services
 

Future Services:

In the future, we plan to expand our days of operation and scope of services to include:
  • Mental health
  • Dental
  • Ophthalmology
  • Offering other outpatient specialty services
